Far Eastern Krai or Far Eastern Territory was an administrative subdivision of the Russian Soviet Socialist Republic during 1926-1938. The terms may also informally refer to Russian Far East. ==History== After the abolition of the buffer state of Far Eastern Republic in 1922 the Far Eastern Area was established with capital Chita (since 1924 the capital was Khabarovsk), which included the lands of FER and Amurskaya, Transbaikalskaya, Kamchatskaya, Priamurskaya, Primorskaya (with northern part of Sakhalin island) guberniyas (provinces).
